St. Mary’s Hospital and Maternity is a multi-specialist boutique hospital located in a serene environment in GRA Enugu. As one of the oldest private hospitals in Enugu, we have devoted over four decades to caring for our patients. Our focus today is on delivering patient centered care in an efficient, qualitative manner. We provide conscientious assessment, intervention and treatment for numerous common and specialist conditions. Our patients are guaranteed customised and individualised healthcare to suit their needs. History
Dr. Benedict Vincent Obiora Amobi, an accomplished Consultant Obstertrician / Gynaecologist and Igwe III of Ogidi, Anambra State founded St. Mary’s Hospital in 1972. Prior to establishing the hospital, Dr. Amobi graduated from University College Dublin, Ireland with a Medical Degree. Following the completion of his undergraduate degree, Dr. Amobi returned to Nigeria where he worked at Massey Street Hospital, Lagos before heading the General Hospital in Degema. In 1958, Dr. Amobi returned to Dublin to specialise in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Upon his return, Dr. Amobi served in various capacities all over Eastern Nigeria before making the bold decision to establish St. Mary’s Hospital. Dr. Amobi was passionate about serving his people and strived to give back by meeting the needs of his community through clinical excellence. The principles of Dr. Amobi continue to shape the vision, mission and values of the hospital today. The current Managing Director of St. Mary’s Hospital is Dr. Sheila Enuoma Amobi.
